Exercises to Obtain Normal Range of Movement in Joints of the Foot and Ankle
 

Sit on table with foot hanging free.  Hold each position for 5 seconds and then return to original position.

  • Raise toes and foot upward as far as possible.

  • Bend toes and foot downward as far as possible.

  • With foot at right angle to leg, turn foot in toward other foot.

  • With foot at right angle to leg, turn foot outward away from other foot.

  • Move ankle so that big toe describes a circle (Circumduction).
